INSTRUCTION FOR FILLING THE ATTRIBUTE BASED APPRAISAL FORM

 

Note: While guidelines are given for reporting in narrative manner, appraisers may give ratings on 9-points grade wherever found convenient. However, while marking overall assessment, the individual ratings have to be properly reckoned.

1. KNOWLEDGE OF WORK, RULES AND REGULATIONS:
Knowledge of work, work procedure, application, diligence, accuracy, neatness etc. may be commented upon and rated.

2. INITIATIVE, COMMITMENT TO TASK AND ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION:

Comments on drive, enthusiasm, originality, ability to overcome difficulties may be given.
Is able to take on challenging goals/tasks for achievement, is committed to achieve organizational goals, endeavours to integrated personal goals with those of organization goals and makes efforts towards realisation of goals.

3. FLEXIBILITY OF MIND:

Comments may be submitted on the Appraisee’s frame of mind while dealing with different situation. The pragmatism necessary while dealing with different situation in different contexts and adaptability to changing circumstances may be commented.

4. DECISION MAKING AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS:
Whether the employee concerned takes decisions on matters falling within his administrative financial powers or merely passes the buck.

Whether the employee concerned invites suggestions/solutions, evaluates alternatives and chooses the best.

Whether the employee has clear perception of organizational goals/ objectives.

Whether the employee takes decisions considering all pros and cons and after in-depth study of the issues.

The source data will be the number of references made by the employee on matters in respect of which he could have taken decisions and the time taken for such decisions.

5. PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITIES:

Whether the employee avoids problems or passes the buck or sits on them.

Whether the employee has a clear perception of issues, analyses causes, appreciates consequences of adopting alternative solutions and chooses the best.

Whether the employee makes clear and realistic recommendations to the controlling authorities.

The source data will be the number of problems solved/ references made, the quality of such references to the controlling Authorities by the employee.

6. UNDERSTANDING OF ENVIRONMENT, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES AND COMPETITIVE FORCES:

Level of awareness about the relevant national, social as well as economic issues/policies, sensitivity to emerging changes around, awareness about the opportunities for business growth, awareness about the local competitive forces.

7. CONTROL AND SUPERVISION:

Comments on ability to get work done, ability to shoulder responsibility, ability to take independent decisions.

Ability to spot problems and deal with them effectively.

Effectively uses man and material resources, endeavours to reduce/contain unproductive expenses; takes steps to increase staff productivity.

8. MARKETING SKILLS:

Comments on knowledge of the employee about the market for business, his ability to forecast potential and trend and develop and implement appropriate strategies / schemes, develop market intelligence system etc. His contacts with the customers present and prospective.

9. INTEGRITY AND INTELLECTUAL HONESTY:

If employee’s integrity is beyond doubt, it may be stated so. If there is any doubt or suspicion, the column may be left bank since relevant information comes under purview of enquiry and specific follow – up action. Under intellectual honesty the ability of the officer to keep away his biases, perception and look at issues dispassionately may be commented. The ability of the officer to think and express his views on any matter honestly and forthrightly without fear or favour needs mention.

10. DEPENDABILITY:

Comments on accuracy in working habits, loyalty to the institution, observance of code of conduct, service rules regarding fidelity and secrecy.

Comments on responsiveness of the employee to various issues of concern to the organization and his commitment to the organizational interests.

11. RELATIONSHIP WITH PUBLIC AND IMAGE BUILDING:

Ability to maintain god social and business contacts

Steps taken by the employee for popularising / publicizing the Bank’s schemes / performance.

The source data will be the employee’s participation in public functions and suggestion emanating from him in this area. Observations by visiting officials from controlling office, feedback form customers and local public men / opinion leaders etc.

12. COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS:

Readily approachable to colleagues and subordinates; extends active and responsive listening to others; encourages two way communication; shares freely relevant information.

13. CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE ABILITIES:

Towards the achievement of organizational goals/tasks, always adopts/contributes new ideas / approaches; looks for alternatives rather than following as a matter of course the laid down rules / procedures.

14. TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS/PUNCTUALITY:

Comments on your punctuality.

15. OVERALL DISCIPLINE & BEHAVIOUR IN OFFICE:

Comments on your overall discipline and Behavior with your colleagues and in office.
